This right here is the NO tire hold. And we're taking a look at it on our 2022 Toyota Prius. This is a pretty unique bike design when it comes to the rack. There's a couple of other ones on our website, but this is the most entry level option. I really like the dual tire hold because it doesn't have any effect on our frame. So we can use our carbon fiber frame bikes. more

We have a 2022 Toyota Prius in the shop today and we're gonna be taking a look at a very popular bike rack. It's a Thule Hitching Post Pro. It's not just popular with us because we like it. It's also one of the most popular racks on our site. Let's go over a couple things. This isn't gonna be great for a carbon fiber bike, just because we do have some frame contact and it's not gonna be for those heavier bikes either because the limit to this as far as weight goes is 35 pounds per bike but you can get four bikes on here and there's three different tie downs per bike. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2022 Toyota Prius- Video
This is the Hollywood Racks Destination 2. And our vehicle is a 2022 Toyota Prius. This is gonna be the most entry level rack when it comes to platform styles. It is gonna limit us to 35 pounds per bike. And we do wanna make sure we don't get those longer mountain bikes just because the wheel base has a max of 48 inches. And when it comes to the fat tire bikes, if they are under 35 pounds we're still not gonna be able to put them on here because our cradles right here are going to limit us to three inches per bike. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota Prius- Video
Hi everyone it's Evangeline here at etrailer.com and today we are looking at our Swagman XE2 bike platform style rack here on our 2015 Toyota Prius. This is a great bike rack to have if you are looking for the bare necessities, you want a bike rack that will get your bikes to where you need them to be safely, securely, and it's a lightweight bike rack too. This bike rack does not tilt away so if you want to access your hatch you will have to remove your bike. Now the way our bike is mounted to this bike rack is by this frame mount. We have universal wheel hoops they are at the bottom and these can fit bike tire widths of up to three and a half inches. So if you want to dismount your bike what you need to do is first lift up on your frame mount, so press that button, lift up lets get to this bottom one right there and with that release you can then either tilt your bike away or what I like to do is just take off these mounts completely, and with them removed completely, then I can even lower my center mast and push that down so that I only need to lift it up just a little bit then I'm ready to go on a bike ride. more

Starting from the outside in, the bike rack comes with an integrated cable lock system, in order to secure your bikes to the rack, to prevent any type of theft occurring. Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 Toyota Prius- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2007 Toyota Prius we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Semi 2.0 2-bike platform rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number S64686. We have a bike already installed on our rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.How it actually attaches to the rack, we'll have two points of contact. We're going to have a wheel hook up at the front, which is pretty nice because it doesn't make you buy any extra accessories such as an adaptor bar as you would for a frame mount. Plus, it's a lot easier on your carbon frame bikes as well. It also has an integrated cable lock, which is a new feature for this model that wraps around the frame of the bike and attaches to itself at the front here to deter theft. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 Toyota Prius- Video
Today on our 2007 Toyota Prius, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat NV 2.0 platform rack for inch and a quarter hitches, part number NV12G. We already have a bike installed on the rack so let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first feature I'd like to show off is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, we'll come to the front here to this lever, pull it towards us and holding on the bike rack, you come down gently and now we have full access to our rear hatch to get what we need. To put it back in it's original position just lift up. And you're good to go. How this bike actually attaches to the rack, there's going to be two points of contact. We're going to have this padded wheel hook up at the front and this wheel strap at the rear. Now the wheel strap is adjustable along the arm here to accommodate different sized bikes. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2007 Toyota Prius- Video
Today on our 2007 Toyota Prius, we are going to be test fitting the RockyMounts SplitRail 2 bike rack, part number RKY1130. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with the bikes still attached. To do that, we have this switch up at the front underneath. You pull it towards you and it will tilt away. This is pretty nice considering that most bike racks that have this tilt feature, the lever is actually underneath the front bike which can make it a little bit awkward when you have 2 bikes installed. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Toyota Prius- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota Prius we'll be doing a test fit of the Saris Bones 2-bike rack, part number SA882. We've already got it loaded up on the Prius just to give you a good idea what it's going to look like and how it's going to hold our bike. It is a hanging-style bike rack, as you can see it secures our bike in three spots. We have two straps for our top tube, and then we have one strap for our seat post tube. This one's going to be our anti-sway strap, it's going to help prevent a lot of the sway in the bike when we're on the road, as well as prevent bike-to-bike contact and bike-to-vehicle contact. Let's go ahead and take our bike off. We're just going to press in on the little tab on top and feed that strap back out. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Toyota Prius S63380- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota Prius, we'll be doing a test for the Swagman Trailhead 4 bike rack. That's part number S63380. I've already got it loaded up on the Prius just to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like. Now right off the bat, this bike rack can be used for class 1, class 2, and class 3 hitches, though if you're only using a class 1, like our Prius here, you're only able to put two bikes on the back. Let's go over how our bike is secure. We've got four straps, three for our top tube here, and then we've got one for our down tube, that's our seat post tube here. This one's going to be our anti-sway strap. more

Saris Freedom SuperClamp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Toyota Prius- Video
Today on our 2014 Toyota Prius, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Saris Freedom, this is going to be your super clamp platform style 2 bike rack. It does come with your 1 1/4 shank for your 1 1/4 class 1 and class 2 hitches as well as a 2 inch adapter for your class 3 and up. Also it's going to be part number SA4025 and we'll go ahead and fit it onto our class 1 hitch that we have here today. Insert your shank into your receiver and line up your pin holes. Once you have your pin holes lined up, insert your anti rattle bolt to move the lock in and place that through. Thread it in as far as you can by hand this anti rattle bolt is going to help to eliminate a lot of the play, rattle and wobble that you may have in your bike rack and I'll show you that as soon as I get it hand tightened. With a regular pin and not an anti rattle bolt, this is the kind of bouncing, swaying and rattle you would have. more

Line up the pin hole and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it with a wrench. Now well go over a few clearance measurements. We have about thirteen and three-quarter inches of ground clearance the closest point of our carrier to the rear of the Prius is about nine and half inches and weve added about twenty-one inches to the overall length of our Prius. As you can see we can gain access to the rear hatch without having to tilt away our carrier. If we do want to tilt away our bike rack we simply pull the lever on the back side of our bike rack and allow it to tilt away. more

From the closest point of the bike rack to the rear of the vehicle is eight inches and we've added eighteen inches to the overall length of our vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and pull the pin at the base of the carrier, to allow our carrier to tilt. With it in this position, we can gain access to the rear hatch of our Prius pretty easily. more

And with our vehicle equipped with the 1 1/4 hitch, we got to have to remove the adapter from the bike rack shank and were ready to install it. Well simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch right up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten down our anti rattle bolt. With our bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle.
